Here you will find helpful resources that the Upward Bound staff updates regularly for our program participants.

If you are a new UB Student and have not received a TRIO Works! Activity Book and you would like to have one, please contact the UB Office by email or phone. Please make sure to include your student's grade level when requesting for a TRIO Works! Activity Book.
For our graduating seniors looking to attend school at UH Maui College this upcoming Fall 2022 semester:
Manaiakalani Scholarship
The purpose of the Mānaiakalani Scholarship is to provide higher education opportunities to individuals least likely to attend college. The scholarship provides financial assistance and academic student support services to students who would not otherwise have considered or been able to take college classes.
Eligibility for potential students must meet the following criteria:
Maui resident that will attend UH Maui College

Demonstrate financial need and barriers/challenges keeping you from attending college

First time college student or minimal college experience (1 semester maximum)

Enroll in a mandatory cohort class in Fall 2022

Mu'o A'e Program:
The Mu'o A'e program focuses on increasing the success of Native Hawaiian students. They provide a sense of place that nurtures and enhances their self-identity and helps them to make connections to achieve excellence. They also offer students a challenging, yet rewarding learning experience, while working together to help each student succeed in achieving their educational goals at UH Maui College, advancing their education and graduating.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

Must be Native Hawaiian

Accepted to UH Maui College for the Fall semester
-
First-time attending college
-
Part-time, Full-time student
-
Committed to participate in our program services
If you are a Native Hawaiian, who recently graduated from high school and is planning to attend the University of Hawaii Maui College, click the links below to apply to the Mu'o A'e Program and learn more about the Mu'o A'e Program. If you are currently enrolled in the Upward Bound program, here is the link for the Upward Bound Electronic Device Request. Once you fill out the online request form, the Upward Bound staff will go through all completed requests, respond as soon as possible and determine upon device availability if we can loan you an electronic device.
If you have any questions in regards to borrowing an electronic device, feel free to contact the Upward Bound Office at (808) 984-3299 or email ubmaui@hawaii.edu.
For our current Upward Bound program participants, if you need some help with your school homework/assignments, head over to your Tutor.com account. You can schedule a session with a tutor, and submit assignments (i.e. essays) to get professional help and feedback.
Students who use Tutor.com for academic support can earn extra participation points that will be added to their stipend!

The Upward Bound Program is proud to announce that we are now offering Foreign Language support to UB participants through Mango Language. Mango Language is a highly-rated language-learning app that offers assistance in over 70 languages.
If you are a current UB student, please click on the link to sign up to get your Mango Language login information. All login information will be emailed to the student once they have completed the Mango Language Google Form.
*Students who use Mango Language for academic support, can earn extra participation points that will be added to their stipend.
The Upward Bound Program provide services to our program students at these seven (7) Maui County High School.
For students to stay more connected to their high schools, we’ve shared all of the high school websites down below.

If you do know someone, have them fill out our online UB Pre-Application. After the online pre-application is submitted and our program receives them, an Upward Bound staff member will contact you at their earliest convenience.
