2.1 Acceptance
2.1.1 Acceptance Notification
Applicants must be:
For general admissions, notification will be sent within two weeks* after the UH System Application and other required documents are received. You can check your Acceptance Status on the Application Portal.
*During periods when a high volume of applications is being processed, notification of acceptance or rejection may be delayed.
What About Rolling Admissions?
Applicants applying after the deadlines are asked to check with the Admission and Records office regarding their admission status and registration information.
2.2 Get Student ID Number
2.2.1 Set Up MyUH Account
Find Your Student Number
You’ll receive an acceptance letter with your Student ID number (This is different from Student ID Card). You’ll need your Student ID number to set up your MyUH account, and take the EdReady placement tests.
Go to MyUH Portal
Go to myuh.hawaii.edu and set up your MyUH account. This UH portal will serve as your home base for:
- Class registration
- Tuition and financial aid
- Academic services
- Grades and transcripts

2.3 Health Clearance
2.3.1 Health Clearance Requirements
You may be accepted to College without clearance, but you will not be able to register for in-person or hybrid classes until your health clearance documents are received.
- Tuberculosis (TB) clearance
- Measles Mumps Rubella (MMR) immunization
- Varicella (VC) immunization
- and Tetanus-Diptheria-Pertussis (Tdap) immunization

2.3.2 Submit Health Clearance Forms
- Download the Health Clearance Form
- Submit immunization clearances via Med+Proctor.
2.4 Get Your Finances Sorted
2.4.1 Apply for Financial Aid
Check with the Financial Aid Office at (808) 984-3277 to see if you’re eligible for financial aid and scholarship opportunities.
Residents of Maui County may also be eligible for assistance with their application, financial aid & literacy, and scholarships through the Educational Opportunity Center. Call them at (808) 984-3286.
2.4.2 Pay for Tuition & Fees

Financial Aid recipients should check their MyUH account to make sure their award has been applied and their classes are being held.
2.4.3 Follow Up on Your FAFSA Award
Check your MyUH account for financial aid updates, for
- any additional documents that may be needed in your Student Requirements
- how to accept your award,
- or sign up for an e-refund.
2.5 Transcripts (for Transfer Students)
2.5.1 Request Transcripts from Previous Institutions
If you’ve attended college outside of the University of Hawai’i System and would like to transfer your credits to UH Maui College, request official transcripts from previous institutions.
Send Transcripts Directly to our Admissions Office: Ask your previous institutions to send transcripts directly to the Admissions and Records Office.
Official transcripts must be mailed directly from the originating institution to UH Maui College. Hand-carried transcripts, faxed copies and those stamped “Issued to Student” will not be accepted. Questions? Call our Admissions and Records Office at (808) 984-3267 or email uhmcar@hawaii.edu.
2.5.2 Submit a Transcript Evaluation Request Form
Along with sending transcripts, you must complete a Transcript Evaluation Request Form. and submit it to the Admissions Office.
2.6 Take Placement Tests
2.6.1 Take Placement Tests for English and Math Courses
UHMC is using EdReady College Readiness scores to help students determine their starting course for English and Math. After you complete the initial diagnostic test you can use your score to register for classes. You can also keep working on your learning path to improve your score.
Everyone is required to take the English & Math EdReady placement tests unless you meet of the alternate placement measures.

Go to uhcc.edready.org, read the instructions, then click “Get Started”.
